Here’s how to configure an IMAP email account on an Android device:
- Open the “Email” app on your Android device.
- Tap “Add Account”.
- Enter your email account information:
- Email address: Enter your full email address
- Password: Enter your email account password
- Tap “Manual setup”.
- Select “IMAP” as the account type.
- Enter the following information:
- Incoming server settings:
- IMAP server: Enter the incoming IMAP server name (can be found from your email provider)
- Port: Enter 993
- Security type: Select “SSL/TLS” (if available)
- User name: Enter your full email address
- Password: Enter your email account password
- Outgoing server settings:
- SMTP server: Enter the outgoing SMTP server name (can be found from your email provider)
- Port: Enter 465 or 587
- Security type: Select “SSL/TLS” (if available)
- User name: Enter your full email address
- Password: Enter your email account password
- Tap “Next”.
- Give your account a name and your name as you want it to appear on outgoing messages.
- Tap “Done”.
- Your IMAP email account is now set up on your Android device and you can start sending and receiving emails.
